**About This Opportunity**:
Nelson’s Place Medical Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to locum at this clinic consisting of two other Family Physicians (part-time and full-time), a Psychiatrist, a Psychotherapist, an OB/GYN, and a Social Worker. The clinic uses the MedAccess EMR system, is professionally managed, has very experienced administrative staff and offers full billing support to physicians. This full-time locum opportunity is for approximately 8 weeks, beginning June 1 (but can be flexible) and comes with a roster of approximately 2000 patients.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

**Expected Hours**:
Full-time

**Qualifications**:

- Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
