**Procurement & Order Management Specialist**
**Location**: Hamilton
**Salary**: $65,000-$75,000 per year plus bonus incentives

Our client, a well-established custom manufacturer based in Hamilton, is looking for an experienced **Procurement & Order Management Specialist** to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys taking ownership of purchasing activities, vendor relationships, and inventory management.

You’ll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly and efficiently by managing supplier relationships, coordinating materials, and supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain.

**What You’ll Do**:
**Procurement & Order Management**
- Manage purchasing documentation, including requisitions, POs, cancellations, and customs forms.
- Confirm orders with suppliers, resolve delays, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate purchase orders with production schedules to minimize downtime.

**Supplier & Vendor Relations**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
- Resolve issues related to quality, cost, and delivery discrepancies.

**Inventory & Data Management**
- Conduct inventory cycle counts and monitor stock levels.
- Accurately input and maintain purchasing and inventory data in the ERP system (Global Shop Solutions).

**Operational & Strategic Support**
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager and production team to manage material flow.
- Support the implementation of procurement procedures to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Assist with supplier transitions and logistics during acquisitions.

**Cost Management & Continuous Improvement**
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through better sourcing and material optimization.
- Research and assist in sourcing new materials and suppliers.

**What You Bring**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in purchasing, supply chain, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of purchasing experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production floor operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- In-depth knowledge of purchasing and material planning principles.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (asset).
- PMAC or SCMP designation (asset).
