**About Kinnect Support Services**:
Kinnect Support Services is a social services partner that provides trained staff support to various organizations in need of relief staff. Our team offers support to agencies that work with individuals who experience behavioral, social, emotional, physical, and psychiatric difficulties.

**The Role**:
We are currently hiring a Developmental Support Worker, Personal Support Worker, or related discipline to support in a group home setting. You will be supporting and implementing behavioral plans and programming for youth and adults with developmental disabilities, often dual diagnosis. Individuals have high needs, including behavioural and mental health challenges.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate in the implementation of behavior support plans including hands-on care and daily living activities.
- Support clients to identify, work towards and achieve their goals/personal outcomes.
- Encourage self-expression of individuals supported and remain knowledgeable of verbal and nonverbal communications, including alternative communication systems and techniques.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to work collaboratively within a team
- Support with crisis intervention, including being comfortable with physical restraints, as directed by individual support plans
- Provide careful and accurate observation of clients, completing all required documentation and reports.
- Encourage and assist clients to participate in social, educational, community and recreational activities
- Take an active role to ensure the home remains clean, tidy, and safe for the clients
- Provide some personal care support, including grooming, toileting, showering for some
- Must be able to work 8 hours shifts.

**Qualifications**:

- Completed Diploma or Degree in **Developmental Services Worker and Personal Support Worker**:

- Must have ASD experience working with clients, preferably in a residential setting
- Up-to-date immunization records, double vaccination for COVID-19, and need to have or willing to get a TB Test
- Valid 3-day UMAB crisis training or **willingness to obtain**:

- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C required
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 12 months, or willingness to obtain

**Skills to Have**:

- Good oral and verbal communication skills - English is essential.
- Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- Is capable of working in a team environment.
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates ability to organize workload and to respond efficiently and effectively to unexpected workload and situations.

**License/Certification**:

- Up to date immunizations, TB Test, and Covid Vaccination? (required)
- Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 12 months? (required)
- 3-day UMAB Crisis Training? (required)
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C? (required)
