Giant Tiger is looking to hire a Financial Analyst - Financial Reporting The incumbent will support the Financial Planning Manager on the budgeting and forecasting processes and support various departments with variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting and business case creation. This role can be fully remote

Financial Analyst - Financial Reporting, Role Accountabilities:
- Prepare and update tables, graphs and bridges (waterfall charts) that summarizes GTSL’s financial performance for the monthly and quarterly Board memos and packages. Prepare variance analysis.- Compile quarterly consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Calculate Debt to EBITDA and Fixed Charge Ratio for bank loan covenant reporting.- Listen to our competitor’s earning calls and read their earning’s release to summarize their quarterly financial results and highlight common themes.- Assist with retail stores and corporate divisions’ monthly/quarterly forecast updates and annual budget compilation process.- Support client group by creating the financial portion of business cases, including for new stores, to support decision making. Attend meetings with client group to gather required information.- Support the Head of Corporate Finance and Risk and CFO with ad hoc financial analysis.- Completed post-secondary education in a related field, commerce, finance, economics, accounting, business administration- Enrollment in the CPA program;- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;- Proficient with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (functions, pivot tables, macros, etc.);- 1-2 years of experience working in finance, accounting or audit;- Basic knowledge of OLAP, Workday Financial and IBM Cognos TM1;- Experience in creating business cases or budgeting and planning is considered an asset;- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset;- Work experience in retail or related industry is considered an asset;
