**Journeyman Carpenter (Summer Position - $29-$35/hr)** - Edmonton, Alberta_ | _Full-Time (May-August)_ | _$29-$35/hour + Bonuses_ **Build Great Things This Summer** BlueMaple Construction Ltd. is hiring a **Journeyman Carpenter** for our **2025 summer deck-building season**. This seasonal role offers meaningful leadership responsibilities, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to grow within a values-driven team. **This is a full-time seasonal position (May-August), with potential for winter extension based on performance and workload.** **Key Responsibilities**: - **Lead a crew of 1-2 apprentices** on deck builds throughout Edmonton & surrounding areas - Ensure **projects meet timelines and safety standards** with mínimal supervision - Perform framing, finishing, and custom outdoor carpentry - On-site training will be provided with ongoing support from the Project Manager to answer questions and offer assistance as needed - Use the **Jobber App** for schedules, updates, and time tracking - Keep job sites organized, clean, and compliant with OHS standards - Uphold a professional, respectful attitude on client properties **Schedule & Work Conditions**: - **Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM**: - Work may follow **four 10-hour days** or **five 8-hour days**, weather and project-dependent - **Unpaid 30-minute lunch** and **two paid 15-minute breaks**: - Average 32-44 hours per week - Outdoor conditions and **weather delays may affect hours** **Pay & Benefits**: - **$29-$35 per hour**, based on experience - **Overtime paid at 1.5x** after 44 hours/week (seasonal) - **Vacation pay: 4%** of gross wages, paid each cheque - Paid **stat holidays** per Alberta Employment Standards - **Performance bonuses** for early/on-time completion and quality standards - Opportunity for **winter employment based on performance** **What You’ll Need to Bring**: - **Your own toolbelt essentials**, including impact driver, batteries, tape measure, chalk line, bits, and more - **Your own PPE**: steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection - **BlueMaple uniform provided** after hire — must be worn clean and intact on-site - Must be physically capable of **lifting up to 50 lbs**, working on ladders, and performing full workdays in outdoor weather **Qualifications**: - Journeyman Carpenter Certification OR Proven Experience in Carpentry for 3+ years - Proven experience in deck framing and outdoor carpentry - Valid Class 5 Driver’s License + reliable vehicle - Strong communication and leadership skills - Alberta Building Code & OHS knowledge - Comfortable mentoring apprentices - Punctual, organized, and respectful **Why Work With Us?** - Positive team culture.
