**Responsibilities**:
- Assist experienced machinists in setting up and operating a variety of machine tools and equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand machining requirements.
- Perform precision measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy and quality of machined components.
- Follow established manufacturing procedures and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues or process improvements.
- Maintain and clean machines, tools, and work areas to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Continuously learn and develop machining skills through on-the-job training and participation in apprentice courses.
**Requirements**:
- 1-3 years of experience in machining, including operating manual and CNC machines.
- Enrolled in the first year of an apprentice training program in machining or a related field.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Solid knowledge of machining principles, techniques, and tooling.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining issues.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop new machining skills.
**Salary**: $16.00-$19.00 per hour
