**About Us**:
Metro Compactor Service was established in 1978 and is Canada’s leading expert in Waste and Recycling Equipment solutions. We are looking for a full time _Field Service Technician_ to join our rapidly growing team.
**What You’ll Do**
The Field Service Technician travels to our high-profile commercial client locations to perform diagnostic checks, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and general repairs to waste equipment such as compactors and balers. You will communicate directly with client users, operators, and employees to deliver a successful service visit.
While most of your work will be independently performed after a suitable training period, you will be collaborating with other technicians and support staff to deliver the best possible solution for our clients.
- Previous working experience on machinery, including Hydraulics or electrical controls.
- Capable to read & interpret electrical circuit drawings and mechanical blueprints to properly diagnose, repair and replace various parts and components
- An acute attention to detail coupled with experience working with hand tools such as drills, grinders, wrenches, hammers, and measurement tape.
- Able to learn and work with ultrasonic sensors, photo-eyes, pressure transducers, solenoids, relays, and limit switches.
- Must be willing to travel to several locations throughout the day and work independently in a company vehicle.
- Strong verbal communication skills while maintaining professional appearance, positive attitude, and a_ safety-first mindset. _
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions year-round and wearing protective clothing while working in or near garbage, recycling, or compost material.
- “Class 5” Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
**Nice to Have (We will Train)**:
- Experience repairing waste and recycling equipment
- Basic Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience
- Stick Arc Welding
