**Water & Sewer**Mainline Hoe Operator (OUT OF TOWN WORK)**
Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Mainline Hoe Operator to work on underground / water & sewer projects located across Western Canada. We offer competitive wages for out of town work, LOA, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.
**Duties include (but are not limited to)**:
- Rehab / replacement work - installation of underground utilities in close proximity to existing utilities and in existing residential / commercial areas
- Work closely with pipe crews to install pipe - ensuring a high level of safety, communication and quality
- Adherence to legislation for excavation and trenching requirements
- Lower materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures
- Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
- Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
- Daily equipment inspections and maintenance
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity
**Required Skills**:
- 3+ years of experience as a Mainline Excavator Operator
- Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is required
- Exceptionally safety conscious
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman
- Ability to operate other equipment is an asset
- Strong communication skills
**Required Certifications**:
- CSTS 2020 (required)
- WHMIS 2015 (required)
- Ground Disturbance Level 2 (required)
