**What we are looking for**:
As the Patient Support Assistant, you will be a part of the health care team supporting within the Maternal Child program. Your primary role is to assist the physician in our circumcision clinic. You will work in an environment where the focus is on quality and family centered care with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.

Primary responsibilities will include:

- Ensure all equipment is ready to go day of procedures
- Preparation of procedure room before and between patients
- Escorting patients and families to and from the procedure room and providing family directions to get infant ready
- Being in the room during the procedure to help physician as directed
- Set up circumcision video for families.
- Order procedure trays for next procedure day
- Communicate with families on as needed basis as directed by physician
- Other duties as assigned by manager

**What you bring to the role**:

- Completion of a recognized personal support worker certificate or health care aide program from a community college or equivalent education
- Previous experience as a Paediatric Procedure Assistant in a similar environment required
- Previous experience providing verbal instructions to families required
- Strong organizational and multi tasking capabilities required
- Effective written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work with all levels of staff
- Ability to multi task
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

**Work Schedule**:
Flexibility required pending physician availability

Monday to Friday - may be some weekends

4 hour shifts (1000 - 1400, 1200 - 1600, 1400 - 1800, 1500 -1900) Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

Flexible to meet as needed requests for additional clinics

**Compensation**:
***Cu01a: $22.30 - $24.69 per hour
