**The Role**
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor or Senior Operator, you will perform skilled operational and maintenance duties for wastewater treatment and collection systems. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizing plant performance, and performing routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, sometimes requiring after-hours or on-call availability to respond to operational needs.

**In This Role, You Will**:

- Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment plants of varying complexity, including MBBR, MBR, RBC, SBR, lagoons, and septic systems.
- Perform process control adjustments to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct inspections, collect operational data, and document plant performance.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including cleaning and servicing equipment.
- Collect and handle wastewater samples according to Chain of Custody protocols; perform on-site testing with handheld devices.
- Troubleshoot and repair process equipment using O&M manuals and manufacturer instructions.
- Maintain accurate operational records and regulatory reports in compliance with MECP and other applicable requirements.
- Work in accordance with all safety regulations and company procedures, using appropriate PPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive team environment.

**What the Role Requires**:

- **Minimum MECP OIT Certification** in Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection.
- For Level 2**:MECP Class 2 Wastewater Treatment** and **Class 2 Wastewater Collection** Certificates (or higher).
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- One or more years of related operating experience preferred; higher experience required for Level 2.
- Ability to operate and maintain manual and powered equipment.
- Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing physical labour, including lifting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g., OHSA, Safe Drinking Water Act, Spills Act).
- Valid Ontario G driver’s license in good standing; access to a vehicle during working hours.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50.00-$65.00 per hour
