Job description Position Type: Part -time We are looking for staff available to work 8-10 hours a week preferably Wednesday to Friday. Location : Victoria, BC Wage: $21 - $25/hour depending on experience with wage reviews annually *One year commitment requested Pivot Point specializes in intensive therapeutic interventions for children, teens and adults with Autism and other special needs, enhancing their success at home, school and in the community. Nature and Scope of Work Life Skills Workers serve as ‘behaviour therapists’, working one-on-one with individuals with developmental disabilities. They implement client specific Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) intervention strategies that are developed by a team of specialists. Work is done in client homes so a reliable vehicle is necessary. **Qualifications**: - At least 6 months experience working with adults with disabilities (preferably autism but work with other disorders is also strongly considered) - Post-secondary education in a related area of study such as Disability and Applied Behaviour Analysis, Special Education Assistant, etc - Ability to set boundaries with compassion and consistency - Dependability & consistency in attending sessions - Basic computer skills - Ability to help with clients self care routine - Flexible schedule You MUST be able to provide the following: - Proof that you are over 19 years old - Willingness to complete a Criminal Record Check - Willingness to obtain Emergency First Aid - Willingness and ability to successfully complete NVCPI training directly through Pivot Point - Have a reliable vehicle - Have a valid Driver’s License - Have a clean driving record (Driver's Abstract will be required) - "Business Use" car insurance & $3,000,000 Third-Party Liability Insurance will be required **Job Types**: Part-time, Casual Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 8 - 10 per week Application question(s): - Are you available to work Wednesdays through Fridays? - Do you have a reliable vehicle to commute with clients? **Experience**: - working with adults with diverse abilities: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: - Class 5 Driver's License (required) **Location**: - Victoria, BC (required) Work Location: On the road
