**Job Purpose**

A Baker/Breakfast Cook is responsible for making a wide range of breads, buns, pastries, sheet cakes and other baked goods. In addition, the Baker/Breakfast Cook is responsible for preparing quality, fresh, homemade, breakfast meals for clients and staffThe Baker/Breakfast is required to bake most products from scratch with mínimal pre-fab products being used.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Oversees the night staff ensuring the kitchen is stocked, sandwiches are made, and breakfast is prepared.
- Planning and Quality control practices “Food Safe”.
- Make specialty rolls and breads as needed by the menu or requested by the chef.
- Follow the formulas on a consistent basis to keep the quality and good cost constant.
- Prepare items that are needed for the following day’s consumption.
- Perform all other duties when asked in order to assure the smooth running of the operation.
- Demonstrated skill in the making of tasty, nourishing, food.
- Demonstrated ability with volume production, portion control, and time management skills.
- Gathers all supplies needed to prepare breakfast
- Prepares all food from breakfast menu using standard recipes in accordance with Brookwood Camps and Catering standards
- Keeps stations and cooking equipment clean
- Sets up, and maintains cook station
- Adheres to local health and safety regulations
- Maintains the highest sanitary standards
- Ensures that work area and equipment are clean and sanitary
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors and management

**Qualifications**
- Food Safe Certification
- Formal training in the culinary arts; specific to the trade of baking
- 2+ years related cooking experience as a breakfast cook
- 2+ years’ experience working a rotational schedule

**Working Conditions**

The special working conditions entails seasonal work dependent on the industry and weather, 12 hour night shift work, 3 weeks in and 1 week out rotational schedule, and being isolated for periods of time.

**Physical Requirements**

Baker/Breakfast position requires standing for extended periods of time, lifting and carrying heavy objects on a regular basis, and performing repetitive tasks with few breaks.

**Safety Responsibility**

Attend and participate in daily Toolbox Meetings and weekly Safety Meetings

Report all incidents, near misses, injuries and property damage incidents to the supervisor immediately

Perform Fire Warden duties, as required

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
