**IT Specialist /System Administrator**

**Description**:The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) IT Sector is seeking a versatile and motivated individual responsible for providing hardware, software, and systems support to include supporting a large Microsoft Windows and Office 365 environment.
Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the IT Specialist will have the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Assist the IT management in deployment of various IT systems as needed.
- Administer other IT systems as adopted by the organization under direction of IT management (Financial and Human Resource Systems, Electronic Document Management)
- Maintain backup and restore systems. Insuring backups are current as well as off-site replication and virtual standbys. Assessing and addressing issues with backups.
- Resolve network/computer issues
- Setup and configure new computers using Acronis Imaging software
- Maintain various databases for asset tracking and tagging
- Work under the direction of management to research solutions and conduct technology market surveys
- Remote fix of workstations using Direct Connect and TeamViewer or any other remote software tool
- Monitor, resolve and maintain all conference rooms audio/visual connections and software
- Willingness to rollup sleeves to install hardware or wiring in ceilings, floors, server rooms or other office locations to ensure proper connectivity and operations of the various hardware equipment
- Maintain network documentation as directed
- Support users in a national environment and varying time zones
- Participate in the creation, implementation and continual improvement of standards, processes and procedures required to deliver high quality service
- Administer all users on various internal networks and social media platforms, including creation of accounts for new employees, providing technical support to existing users of the system and managing the suspension, re-routing and deactivation of usernames for departed employees.
- Support hardware and software acquisitions, installation, administration aligned with various client needs
- Work with the IT management to reconcile the IT budget for hardware and software acquisitions
- Monitor, report on and continuously improve the IT support performance indicators and Service Level Agreements with vendors

**Qualifications**:
- Equivalent to completion of University or Community College in specialized courses in computer related studies
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in information systems
- Extensive hands on experience with the analysis, design, evaluation and implementation of hardware/software systems
- Strong technical background with emphasis on the administration of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows operating system, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL Server
