**Position Summary**:The Experienced Audit Associate will provide technical support on audit and review engagements in various industries. The Associate will work on several sections of any particular assignment and support the Senior Associate and Manager in the timely completion of engagements.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Assist in reviews and audit engagements during planning and fieldwork including the preparation and mailing of confirmations, attendance at inventory counts and preparation of the memorandum of count procedures
- Complete significant audit sections including cash, accounts receivable, inventory, prepaids, fixed assets, accounts payable, related party balances and transactions, long term debt, share capital, retained earnings and income statement and ensure working paper documentation supports work performed
- Independently complete small audit, review and notice to reader engagements; completion includes drafting appropriate client correspondence such as, management representation letter, instalment covering letter, transmittal letter, adjusting journal entries, legal information letter and engagement letter
- Draft corporate tax returns, prepare appropriate tax checklists
- Prepare personal tax returns including gathering, sorting and entering information into tax software
- Assist senior in developing an appropriate engagement program including risk analysis and calculation of materiality, and preparing the planning memorandum where applicable
- Set up worksheets and post journal entries within Caseware
- Prepare and proofread financial statements
- Perform intermediate research and reach logical, well-supported technical conclusions

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- A University degree and pursuing the Canadian CPA designation
- Two years of related experience working at a public accounting firm is a must
- Experience working with mid-market entrepreneurial clients is preferred
- Solid knowledge of accounting software including Caseware/Caseview, Tax Prep, MS Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships
- Organizational skills for prioritizing demands, workflow and meeting deadlines
- Must have a strong commitment to quality
- Solid understanding of business professionalism and the ability to work in a team environment
