**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Oversee and coordinate projects, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met.
- Build and restore structures, including framing, roofing, and flooring installation.
- Conduct construction estimating to determine project costs and material requirements.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices in best practices and techniques.

**Skills**
- Proficient in building, restoring, and assembling various structures and components.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
- A solid background as a maintenance person is a plus, showcasing versatility in various repair tasks.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
