**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The Director will be responsible for overseeing the integrity and optimization of costing, gross margin management, and financial reporting across the business. This individual will also lead compliance initiatives to ensure financial controls and global reporting standards are upheld. Acting as a strategic partner to both Finance and Operations, the Director will drive profitability insights, margin discipline, and reporting excellence to support sustainable growth and private equity value creation objectives.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Costing & Margin Management
- Oversee product costing methodologies, ensuring accurate allocation of materials, labor, freight, and overhead.
- Partner with Production, Supply Chain, and Merchandising teams to assess cost efficiency and recommend margin-improvement strategies.
- Monitor actual vs. planned margins, highlighting risks and opportunities by product line, channel, and market.
- Implement robust costing and pricing models to support new product development and market expansion.
Reporting & Analysis
- Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages, providing clear insights on margin, cost drivers, and financial KPIs.
- Develop reporting dashboards for senior leadership, integrating operational and financial metrics.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting across global entities.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with deep analysis of cost trends and margin expectations.
Compliance & Controls
- Maintain strong internal controls related to costing, reporting, and compliance with international accounting standards.
- Oversee compliance with taxation, transfer pricing, and trade regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Work closely with external auditors and advisors to ensure adherence to reporting and compliance obligations.
- Establish and continuously improve compliance frameworks, policies, and training across the organization.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES**:
- CPA designation (or equivalent) required.
- 8-12 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role in apparel, retail, or consumer products.
- Proven expertise in product costing, gross margin analysis, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and international compliance requirements.
- Experience in a private equity-backed environment is an asset.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel/BI tools.
- Bilingual (French/English) strongly preferred.
- Strategic and analytical thinker with strong business acumen.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to balance detail orientation with high-level strategic insights.
- Proactive leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong integrity and commitment to compliance and governance.
