**Position Overview**
As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our indoor dog park and café, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained environment for our customers and their pets. You will manage a team of three key employee positions—Receptionist, Janitor/Dog Park Security, and Barista—while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety, and operational efficiency. Your leadership will be critical to the success of our business, fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring the satisfaction of our members and guests.
**Key Responsibilities**
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- **Team Management and Oversight**:
- Supervise and support the Receptionist, Janitor/Dog Park Security, and Barista, ensuring each team member performs their duties effectively and adheres to company policies.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and coordinate training to enhance employee skills and development.
- Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment, addressing any conflicts or concerns promptly.
- **Receptionist Oversight**:
- Oversee the Receptionist’s work in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of active members’ information and subscription data, ensuring compliance with data privacy standards.
- Ensure the Receptionist provides exceptional customer service, addressing member inquiries, processing payments, and managing check-in procedures efficiently.
- Monitor membership renewals and subscription plans to maximize retention and customer satisfaction.
- **Inventory and Café Operations**:
- Ensure adequate inventory and supplies for the coffee bar, coordinating with suppliers to maintain stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other essentials.
- Oversee the Barista’s performance in preparing high-quality beverages and maintaining a clean, organized coffee bar area.
- Monitor café sales and customer feedback to identify opportunities for menu improvements or promotional activities.
- **Facility Maintenance and Safety**:
- Supervise the Janitor/Dog Park Security to ensure the facility is consistently clean, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Verify that the Janitor performs regular cleaning tasks, including sanitizing play areas, restrooms, and café spaces, and addresses any maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure the Janitor/Dog Park Security actively monitors the dog park to prevent and de-escalate dog fights, enforce park rules (e.g., no aggressive dogs, leash policies), and address any customer violations tactfully.
- **Customer Experience and Community Engagement**:
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers, addressing concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer engagement, such as hosting dog-friendly events, loyalty programs, or community activities.
- Monitor customer feedback through surveys, reviews, and direct interactions to continuously improve the business.
- **Operational and Financial Management**:
- Develop and manage operational schedules for staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Monitor financial performance, including daily sales, membership revenue, and expenses, and report to ownership on a regular basis.
- Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or customer satisfaction.
- **Compliance and Safety**:
- Ensure the business complies with all local health, safety, and business regulations, including food safety standards for the café and animal welfare guidelines for the dog park.
- Maintain a safe environment for dogs and customers by enforcing rules, conducting regular safety checks, and addressing hazards immediately.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably in hospitality, retail, or pet-related businesses.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of inventory management, customer service, and basic financial reporting.
- Passion for dogs and familiarity with canine behavior is a plus.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations, including resolving conflicts and managing emergencies.
- Proficiency in basic software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, POS systems, membership management software).
**Compensation and Benefits**
- **Salary**: $60,000-$75,000 annually, based on experience.
- **Benefits**: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off (PTO); and employee discounts on café items and memberships.
- **Work Schedule**: Full-time position, with flexibility required for weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings to meet business needs.
