Vermilion has an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Analyst. Based in Calgary, this position will report to the Manager, Marketing. Responsible for supporting the crude, natural gas & NGL marketing team in North America, this positions’ key focus is commodity transport and sales, price and market analysis, contract administration, project evaluation and support for accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support for crude oil, natural gas & NGL sales for Western Canadian markets;
- Short and long term natural gas transport optimization to maximize netbacks
- Forecasting, nominating and tracking crude oil, natural gas & NGL volumes to ensure alignment with sales
- Liaising with key internal stakeholders including Operations team, as well as key external customers
- Review purchase statements against contracts, summarize pricing and volumes
- Ensure overall compliance with marketing processes and activities
- Analytical support for marketing opportunities and projects
- Accounting support including accruals and price verification
- Contract administration including reviewing, tracking and verifying sales contracts
- Support for marketing related ESG initiatives
- Any other assignments or projects as necessary;
First Year Deliverables
- Ensure Vermilion crude oil, natural gas and NGL production moves reliably from wellhead to pipeline
- Support maximization of crude oil, natural gas & NGL netbacks
Essential Experience & Skills
- A minimum of two years progressive experience in Oil & Gas
- Expert ability in the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
- Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and critical analysis skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative manner with diverse groups of individuals
- Ability to work effectively, confidentially and professionally in a rapidly changing business environment
- Strong team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals
- Results oriented individual with the ability to work independently, prioritize work and multi-task effectively
Education
- University degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting preferred
