**Mission**:
Our **Energy Management Department** is looking for a **VIE Data Analyst** based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
As the renewable energy industry evolves, Neoen’s portfolio of wind, solar and storage assets is increasingly exposed to the electricity markets. The Energy Management Department is responsible for managing this exposure and optimizing Neoen’s operations in the electricity markets across various geographies by combining market expertise and modelling capabilities.
As part of the Energy Management team, the Data Analyst VIE will contribute to the following tasks:
- Support the local team by bringing market expertise in:
- Forecasting potential wind/solar/BESS revenues
- Supporting Power Purchase Agreement negotiations
- Supporting carbon offset trading
- Analyse the local power markets to identify key opportunities for Neoen’s assets
- Assess market fundamentals and trends
- Develop modelling capabilities for the Canadian electricity markets through:
- Implementing new optimisation and simulation tools to support innovative business opportunities (e.g., solar + storage installation)
- Implementing short-term and long-term electricity price forecasts & carbon offset projections
- Deliver data-driven market analysis and reports to Neoen’s Senior Management
- Assist with the day-to-day technical operations of the team:
- Monitor and maintain data collection services, virtual machines, and databases
- Set up of new data feeds
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools
**Profil**:
- Education: Master’s Degree student in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data or Computer Science
- Experience: Strong interest for the energy industry (prior experience is a plus)
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Python, familiarity with data science libraries (e.g., pandas, plotly) and version control (e.g., Git, Gitlab)
- Knowledge of constrained optimisation models (e.g., LP, MILP) is a plus
- Language: Fluent in English
