Are you an economist with a passion for public finance? Join the Municipal Finance Policy team at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, where you'll help shape policies that support strong, financially sustainable municipalities across Ontario.**About the job**: To contribute to economic and financial policy development, you will:

- conduct economic and financial research and analysis on a range of municipal finance issues
- develop and review analytical models
- consult with stakeholders, review policy options and make recommendations
- prepare option papers and reports on municipal finance issues
- design and help manage projects

**What you bring to the team**:
**Technical knowledge and experience**: You have:

- Knowledge of policy development and legislative process.
- The ability to interpret reports, policies or legislation.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis and data modelling.
- Knowledge of financial and economic management theory, research methodology and techniques with the ability to link those to municipal financial management.

**Communication and presentation skills**: You can:

- Summarize information and share clear reports and briefings with staff and partners.
- Build effective working relationships.

**Analytical and evaluative skills**: You have:

- Strong evaluative and analytical skills, with demonstrated understanding of policy planning and development.
