**Description**: Hi there, we’re Article. Since 2013, we have been reinventing the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, the **Copywriting Lead** plays a leading role in Brand Creative delivery in support of our Sales & Marketing Programs, in collaboration with the Graphic Design team, and Art Director. **Why We Need You**: As an advocate of our Brand Voice, you will shape (Yes - you will help out with some of the strategic decisions regarding our brand voice) and maintain these guidelines for expressing our Brand Voice in the written and spoken word. This role reports to the Associate Creative Director, who has authority over Brand Voice. This role will be a "functional" lead role - meaning you do not have any direct reports but you "Lead" the day-to-day work for anything Copy related at Article. You will also act as a mentor to the other copywriter on the team, help plan for quarterly content and workshop new ideas on improving copy at Article. **Why Article?** As a Particle (people of Article), you will have a high level of autonomy to solve challenging, meaningful problems the best way you can. You’ll do all this while growing your skills within a company that is redefining the furniture industry. **About the Copy team**: As mentioned above, there is one other copywriter on this team. Also, the Copy team uses contractors from time to time. The team works off of requests from internal customers in the form of briefs (predominately from Marketing). We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). **What You’ll Do**: **1.** **Excellence in Copywriting** - Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our brand position and be able to both create (hands-on) and direct others’ copywriting. - Ensure copy and content reflect Article brand guidelines consistently (Review and Edit). - Delivery of consistent and distinctive high-performing copy and messaging in support of our Sales and Marketing Programs. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our industry competitors through cyclical comparative analysis and reporting. - Be able to do the hands-on work of an experienced copywriter, in addition to supporting the team as needed. - Contribute to Brand Identity Guidelines development as needed, and maintain detailed Brand Voice documentation to keep it relevant and up-to-date. **2. Brand Creative Delivery for Sales & Marketing Programs** - When required, lead (or co-lead) cross-functional teams in the development and execution of marketing campaigns. - Strive to achieve a high level of creative exploration and innovation, while remaining on-brand. - Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our Sales & Marketing business objectives and programs. - Work with the creative leadership team in the development of quarterly marketing content plans, including the definition of overarching themes and how these are translated into a presentation of our products and cohesive promotional stories across our channels. **3. Effective Brand Creative Leadership** - Facilitate strong collaboration between Copy team, Design team and cross-functional partners, and provide relevant guidance to team members (mentorship capacity). - Support Brand Creative team engagement strategies. - Foster a culture of trust, respect, inclusion, creativity and fun, where employees feel valued, and feel able to thrive. **4. Day to Day** - Present creative project work for review and approval to creative leadership, project owners (internal clients), and stakeholders as necessary. Communicate concepts, designs, and ideas succinctly, with a clear narrative which is tailored to the audience. - Work in collaborative partnership with the Art Director, Marketing from concept through execution, and advocate for the role of copy in all brand communications. - Report progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution. - Anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time, and investigate and implement solutions. - Review concluded projects with team to identify areas for continuous improvement. - Partner with Product team to deepen knowledge and understanding of our core merchandising profiles concerning our Design DNA and product catalog. **Who You Are**: - Previous experience in a Lead OR Senior Copywriting role as a contributor to the brand voice. - Experience working for a Consumer Product-based brand is an asset. - We use Wrike to track our work - experience with this system is a nice to have. - Legally able to work in Canada - Completion of criminal background check **Perks & Benefits**: **Life**: - 15 days of vacation* - 6 well-being (sick) days - 1 Inclusion and Diversity Day - Hybrid work: 3 days a week in the office - Work remotely (a
