Overview:
We are looking for a knowledgeable IT/OT Consultant to help our Utilities customer to convert, migrate, integrate, validate, and maintain the full database for their Transmission and Distribution control systems (SCADA/EMS/GMS/DMS/OMS). You’ll take the hassle out of providing strategic advice, solving technical problems, driving technical team and provide training to users to maximize the value of technology in business.

An IT/OT consultant must be knowledgeable and customer-oriented. Communication is everything for a consultant so we expect you to amaze us with your presentation skills. We’re further looking for superior technical expertise on SCADA, EMS, DMS, OMS, GIS and a problem-solving aptitude.

The Database and Modeling Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of the full database for the new system SCADA/EMS/GMS.

**Responsibilities**:

- Overseeing the full cycle of the database conversion activity from the legacy system to the new system
- Reviewing/defining the strategy to come-up with a fully working database for the new system
- Reviewing/defining/optimizing the process to make it robust, easily repeatable, and controllable.
- Reviewing/defining/managing the implementation of the tools necessary to export/import/consolidate/convert/validate the Database
- Managing the delivery of the services performed by the technology vendor.
- Define the database deployment process that fulfills Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment principles
- Assist the customer leadership team with the management of SME’s performing the work.
- Support the Customer’s SMEs and Vendor’s SME in solving technical problems
- Advise the customer around any action to take to ensure that the data is maintainable across all sub-systems, and that it fulfills all functional and non-functional requirements
- Establishing Quality controls and KPIs to measure the progress of the full DB Delivery
- Working with the project manager providing clear and accurate project reporting
- Acting as a champion to foster a positive project work environment; and successfully lead the database track to accomplish all the project objectives
- Maintain practices and procedures that support enterprise service management, governance, and regulatory processes
- Collaborate with various departments and teams including Test, Operations, and IT

Qualifications:

- Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience related to Energy Management Systems/SCADA, data modeling, and operational support of real-time control systems
- Experienced in the implementation and maintenance of large-scale SCADA/EMS systems running on a major vendor platform
- Experience in converting legacy SCADA/EMS system databases to a new technology platform in an electric utility company
- Expert with at least one vendor platform database (OSI, GE, Schneider, Siemens, ABB )
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands with tight timelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present information to various audiences in both formal and informal settings
- Strong customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members and internal and external stakeholders which includes excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deploy a structured approach to problem solving and work practices
- Familiarity with systems development methodologies, requirements analysis, system design and testing methods
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience
