About the role

The ERM &Compliance Team is part of the Risk & Actuarial Services & Plan Policy Division which focuses on the long
- and short-term sustainability of the OPSEU Pension Plan (the “Plan”) and OPTrust by mitigating and reporting on risk and delivering on funding objectives. Compliance is responsible for establishing and implementing a framework for managing compliance risk that is properly scoped, right-sized, risk adjusted and feasible.

The Manager, Compliance will be responsible for working in a highly regulated environment leading Compliance initiatives for OPTrust. This position will be responsible for compliance monitoring, reviewing/maintaining the OPTrust compliance program and developing regular and ad hoc compliance reporting.

The Manager, Compliance will oversee a Compliance Analyst who works with OPTrust staff across the organization in the execution of duties and is the first point of contact for employees regarding compliance policies and procedures.

What you’ll do

Operational Support & Compliance Monitoring- Support and administer the Regulatory Compliance Management program, including ongoing risk assessments, monitoring and testing of business line controls, issue management- Responsible for the management of the compliance policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct. Coordinate with Legal Services in the implementation of compliance policies and procedures relating to OPTrust international offices- Manage, assess, record, and oversee the satisfactory resolution of compliance incidents, including ensuring adequate investigation and management remediation plans- Facilitate and assist business partners in the design and implementation of appropriate processes and controls to mitigate compliance risk- Responsible for implementing and operationalizing the investment compliance program including public markets compliance monitoring and the compliance risk assessment for investment transactions- As a member of the Compliance team, assist in the implementation and maintenance of the broader Compliance Framework and other compliance activities as necessary- Assist and work as a close cross-functional collaborator across multiple stakeholders and functions, including Legal, Information Technology Operations and Security (ITOS), Member Experience (MExPO), Finance and People

Internal and External Reporting- Provide regular and ad hoc reporting to Vice President, ERM & Compliance and other stakeholders regarding compliance- Prepare or assist in preparation of presentation materials for internal committees and Board of Trustees- Foster a risk-conscious culture within the organization through effective internal and external communications, educational, training, and orientation programs and processes that ensure compliance is built into all business activities and initiatives.- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in regulatory compliance- Maintain current knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations and work with Legal Services and Plan Policy to advise on implications of legal and regulatory developments.- Liaise on an ongoing basis with other compliance peers on various issues
