**Lake Erie Works: 2025 Summer Student/ Labour Support Program**
**About the role**
- Labour support in various areas of the plant
- Full time hours
- 8 or 12 hours shift work, continental schedule, rotation days and nights
- Available to work from May 5th to September 1st
- Successful applicants are required to perform general labour work such as shoveling, lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Pay Rate starting from job class 2 ($32.74) as per the Basic Agreement, agreed to by the Company and Local 8782
**Job Qualifications**
- Currently enrolled in Post-Secondary School or entering in Fall 2025
**Eligibility**
- Must be able to provide proof of full-time attendance in the commencing school year September 2025. College or university students can provide
- A letter verifying attendance from the registrar’s office (a letter of registration is not accepted)
- Official transcript issued by college or university showing completion of courses (may include first semester and an interim report)
- Valid Driver’s License & reliable vehicle
- Related to an active/retired Stelco Lake Erie employee
**Responsibilities**
- Working within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the plant
- Depending on the area of work, the environmental conditions may be hot, dirty, dusty, greasy, wet and/ or noisy
- Safety is our highest priority, and safety procedures and guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes wearing mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hat, eye and hearing protection, respirators, flame retardant clothing and safety boots with metatarsal protection, at all times during your work shift
