**About the Organization**:
The Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle (BANAC) is a regional social planning and development organization which provides innovative programs and service to Indigenous communities in Simcoe County, Muskoka, and the northern York Region. BANAC offers many innovative programs and services including Family Wellness, Childcare, Seniors Care and Long-Term Care, Cultural Services, and wholistic Health Services through the Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin Indigenous Interprofessional Primary Care Team.

**About the Role**:
The Biinoojinsauk School Readiness Coordinator focuses on early childhood development, in a culturally appropriate manner, to support the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of a child. Program activities will support early childhood learning and development for children from birth to school age. The worker will develop and maintain partnerships with other community programs and services to enhance school readiness.

**What You Bring**:
College Diploma in Early Childhood Education and must be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators or equivalent as determined by the Ministry of Children and Community Services.
- Must possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in an Early Learning setting
- Planning and Implementation of a stimulating curriculum to meet overall needs of each child preparing to enter the public education system (or, full day kindergarten)
- Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies Indigenous core values of respect & kindness
- Experience in delivering community-based health and cultural programming
- Proficiency in cultural knowledge and local cultural resources.

**Information About Working at BANAC**:

- Work is typically performed in office, community, and classroom setting.
- Regular travel to meetings and communities, will be required - vehicle an asset
- Regular overtime work may be required from time to time, BANAC team members enjoy a flex schedule agreement
- Periodic exposure to smoke may occur from the burning of sacred medicines: Tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar.

Specific employment conditions are specified in an employment contract with BANAC and include the following:

- Worksite location
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification Level C
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License is required
- Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening is required
