Under the general supervision of the Technical Support Officer, the Contractor Licensing, CPFS and Purchasing Clerk is responsible for clerical / administrative functions directly related to the administration of the Contractor Licensing Program on behalf of the Chief Inspectors. The position also manages and coordinates centralized property file search requests, Divisional purchasing, and provides direction and guidance to junior clerical staff.
**As the **_Contractor Licensing, CPFS and Purchasing Clerk_**, you will**:
- Administer all aspects of the Department’s Contractor Licensing Program.
- Perform purchasing activities for the Division.
- Provide direction and guidance to junior clerical staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Your qualifications include**:
- Three (3) years’ experience working in an office environment completing administrative and clerical duties such as verbal and written communication for customer service, filing, and data entry.
- Experience responding to customer complaints and seeking resolution.
- Experience using the AMANDA system.
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
- Experience with Office365 is an asset.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Finance is an asset.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Pro is an asset.
- Advanced level in MS Word; advanced level in MS Outlook; basic level in MS Excel.
- Excellent understanding and working knowledge of Permits Online is an asset.
- Knowledge of building and trade permit processes.
- Ability to interpret and understand relevant by-laws and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of Materials Management standards and adherence to policies and accepted practices.
- Knowledge of and adherence to approved organizational and department purchasing protocols and procedures.
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, other departments, management, and the general public.
- Ability to type accurately at 20 w.p.m.
- Ability and initiative to work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to organize work and set priorities.
