It/production Support Technician

The IT/Production Support Technician will provide technical and troubleshooting support to Kanata production on production builds including IT-related and manufacturability issues. They will provide prototype build support to Kanata engineering as well as technical and troubleshooting support to the Kanata engineering, test and production teams on customer repair requests.

Main Responsibilities/Duties:

- Provide technical support to the Kanata lab. Resolve IT issues related to functional exercising of equipment under test.
- Provide prototype build support to Kanata engineering. Build first article units under engineering guidance and develop production work instructions in line with DFM and DFT techniques.
- Provide technical and troubleshooting support to the Kanata engineering, test and production teams on customer repair requests. Diagnose and repair EMCON products using standard tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.) based on established processes and specified quality standards.
- Assist production and test teams during busy times with assembly and test tasks as needed.
- Continuous Improvement - You will have responsibility to make suggestions on Continuous Improvement within the business. This responsibility form’s part all employees’ job description.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.

Education/Experience:

- Formal certification in computer technology or IT support, combined with experience in frontline IT support. High degree of computer literacy.
- Formal certification in electronics or related field, combined with manufacturing experience, or relevant experience in an electronics / mechanical manufacturing environment

Key Competencies:

- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Work on building solid relationships between the departments.
- Strong understanding of electronic components and circuitry in the context of IT equipment (PCs, monitors, peripherals, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills,
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Travel Requirements:

- Limited travel both local and international.
