**W**hat you will be doing**:

- Design, Document and Operate: The information architecture including high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring and capacity planning that align with the overall enterprise architecture and operational procedures.
- Enforce: Document policies, ensuring operational excellence and security-focused database management.
- Ensure: High availability, improve logging and auditing practices to ensure integrity of information systems.
- Architect: Lead technical design & POCs for new implementations. Perform upgrades and migrations when necessary.
- Collaborate: Team player excited to work with IT and business partners on a variety of technical initiatives.
- Analyze: Requirements, diagnose problems, develop and implement innovative solutions, often within narrow time frames.
- Agile: Ability to multitask and independently prioritize competing deliverables.
- Manage: Day-to-day operational aspects including incident management, issues, action items, risks, change, release management and escalations.
- Maintain: Patches, alerts, licensing, maintenance procedures and database optimizations.
- Oversee: Database backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover activities including periodic restoration and recovery of databases.
- Automate: Database processes and build integration with enterprise tools for CI/CD, Monitoring, Logging, ETL, Reporting etc.
- Lead: Technical design and implementation projects
- Represent: DBAs at Architectural review board, Scrum of scrums, Info Security Auditors, RCA meetings etc.

**What you**’ll** bring**:

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills
- Strong solution design skills based using the database tools, scripting and coding.
- Skilled in managing small projects producing project deliverables by following standard project management practices.
- Previous hands-on, database management experience in 2 or more of the following technologies: PostgresSQL, MS-SQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Amazon Redshift, Redis
- Experience managing database systems in cloud environments: Azure and AWS
- Experience with multi-tenanted databases on SaaS platforms.
- Knowledge of enterprise security standards like FIPS, PCI, HIPPA, SOC2 etc. and a good understanding on information security, data encryption, compliance and auditing engagements.
- Understanding of database modelling, software design, agile and CI/CD process.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills including verbal, written and listening.
