**Correctional Service Worker 1**:
**Salary**: $2,323.38 to $3,003.04 bi-weekly ($60,640 to $78,379 annually)
For wage positions: $32.05 to $41.42 hourly
**Correctional Service Worker 2**:
**Salary**: $2,529.25 to $3,270.46 bi-weekly ($66,013 to $85,359 annually)
For wage positions: $34.89 to $45.11 hourly
The Community Corrections Branch offers community based programs to adult and youth offenders through a network of 52 community corrections offices and two attendance centers located in 36 separate geographic locations in Alberta.

Using your advanced interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), you will conduct investigations, prepare reports, and attend court as required. In the community, you will conduct field visits and liaise with local Police, Courts, and Correctional Centres as required. You will build and maintain positive relationships with community counselling and programming resources, working with systematic barriers that affect individuals and community, and will promote a positive image of probation in the community. Superior time management and prioritization skills are imperative to effectively complete case management activities.

- Knowledge and ability in working with socially marginalized individuals and victims of trauma or intergenerational abuse as well as working with a trauma informed approach

**Qualifications**:
**Correctional Service Worker 1**: Two-year diploma in a related field plus two years related experience; or equivalent as described.
- A related one year certificate and three years of related experience.
- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of experience; or one year of experience for one year of education.
**Correctional Service Worker 2**: University graduation in a related field plus 2 years related experience; or equivalent as described below.
- Two year diploma in a related field plus 4 years related experience; OR
- Completion of the in-service Criminal Justice Certificate plus 5 years related experience (applicable only to employees who have completed the certificate prior to it being discontinued on December 31, 2017).
Related diplomas or degrees including but not limited to the following fields will be considered:
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Youth Work
- Correctional Services
- Justice Studies
- Applied Justice
- Criminology
Assets will be considered as follows:
- Experience working in Community corrections or providing case management with vulnerable populations.
- Experience in completing casework/ programming services (example: behavior management planning, community corrections programs).
- Experience working in a client service environment where you used creative problem solving and agility to de-escalate difficult situations.
