Monitor progress and adapt services to meet the client's needs. As a member of our Community Support Services team, you will provide care and connection to people with brain injuries while providing compensatory strategies. Your role will support clients to remain as independent as possible and maintain their quality of life.

**Who is March of Dimes Canada?**
From our humble beginnings in 1951 as a group of mothers going door-to-door collecting dimes in support of polio research, March of Dimes Canada has grown into a national, multi-service not-for-profit organization. We work for people with disabilities and seniors, helping them with daily living, rehabilitation, and employment.
**What does the Community Support Services team do?**
Our Community Support Services team, which is primarily funded by governments, provides essential services that enable people to live as independently as possible. Whether the disability is physical, cognitive or the result of brain injury or aging, our team of 1,600 employees assists people in their homes and communities, helping them gain a greater level of functioning and connection with others. Over the past year, the number of people we serve rose to more than 6,100 people.
**This Opportunity**
We are currently looking to fill one part-time brain injury groups position which include 21 hours per week
**Duties include the following**:
- Reporting responsibilities (incident reports, and notes to file, completing newsletters and groups calendars of scheduled activities
- Participate in any required mandatory trainings
- Follow policies and procedures
- Implement group activities as per the direction and approval of the Rehabilitation Service Coordinator that support community-based rehabilitation supports and community engagement
- Communicate with client and team members
- Facilitate community groups as well as virtual groups three times per week
- Provide wellness calls where needed
- Ability to organize weekly virtual online group sessions where needed that interests the group participants and promote high level of participation and engagement
- Ability to create weekly newsletters offering community resources where applicable, fun facts, word puzzles, seek input from clients on news letter to gain their input
- Ability to drive to community locations where groups are held weekly, with in Simcoe region
**Background / Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary preferred in Human and Social Services
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with ABI.
- Experience with report writing an asset
- Current CPR/First Aid an asset
- Experience with group facilitation is an asset
- Proven consistency in work performance, including teamwork, reliability and flexibility
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading teams
- Sound behavioral management skills, cognitive problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of brain injury and cognitive rehabilitation is an asset
- Ability to speak, read, and write english
