Assist the Youth Worker with outreach/marketing, recruitment and screening
of applicants for the Youth 2 Action (Y2A) Program
- Help develop marketing campaigns and other social media communications
and promotional materials
- Reach out to schools. do presentations to partners and other stakeholders
- Train, Plan, Coordinate and Implement 2 Community Events with the help of
the participants
- Collect data, assessments and create final report
- Provide assistance with administrative services including general office
supports
- Be able to work evenings and occasional weekends
- Can facilitate workshops when needed
- Hours varies for this position
- Possess solid administrative skills and have a demonstrated ability in the use of MS office products, web browsers and online research tools and social media platforms - Must have basic knowledge of canva and creating presentation materials
- Must be able to plan events that has multiple facets of planning under a very limited budget
- Must be able to develop a presentation and facilitate to a group
- Must be able to develop content and use social media platforms correctly when needed to assist the youth
- Experience in in-person and virtual event planning is an asset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Enjoy a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player, with the ability to prioritize and problem solve
- Must be well organized and can multi-task effectively
- Experience working with diverse cultural groups
- Immediate start
- Be Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or person to whom refugee
protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection
Act and must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant
provincial/territorial legislation and regulations

This is a casual fast paced job with varied hours. Your hours are based on the needs of the project that your team is working on, so each week may vary. The position will help you develop corporate and community event planning experience. as well as strong communication and will help you develop strong time management skills. You will work with Newcomer Youth and will often collaborate with other programs to present your community project to the market. This is primarily a virtual job with occasional in-office meeting with staff and off-site meetings with participants. We work on the schedule of our participants, hence expect to work evenings and occasional weekends.
