**THE OPPORTUNITY**

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Educational Assistant team in the capacity of permanent **Educational Assistant**.

Sir Isaac Brock Public School

**Hours of work/FTE**

1.0 FTE ; 32.5 hours per week

**Rate of Pay / Salary Range**:
$25.74 to $31.40 per hour;
**Board Information**:
1.0 FTE; 10 months; 32.5 hours per week permanent, full-time; ESSP Union

Reporting to the school Principal, Educational Assistants must possess willingness, along with the physical ability, to work with all of our students who have many diverse needs. This is a 10-month position (September to June) **to start as soon as possible.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform other duties as assigned

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Educational Assistant Diploma, and/or a combination of formal education (fields related to the development of children and/or special education) and work experience deemed equivalent by the Board
- Post-Secondary Degree in a related field of study
- A valid Behaviour Management Systems certification is required for this position
- Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred and school-based experience is a definite asset
- Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
- Lifting/Positioning Training
- Flexibility, patience, empathy and the ability to work closely with students with complex needs, classroom teacher, parents and Administration
- Access to a reliable method of transportation and ability to attend specific schools
