DANI (Developing and Nurturing Independence) is a community-focused, value-driven nonprofit organization, dedicated to inclusion, community support, and making a positive impact. We empower neurodivergent adults with a full continuum of person directed services; including employment training, life skills, self-advocacy, social, recreational, and residential. **WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR**

Dani is looking for a professional Baker to prepare different types of bread and a wide range of pastries, like cookies, cakes and pies. We are seeking a skilled culinary professional with demonstrated experience in commercial baking environments who can create high-quality baked goods that meet our established standards while working in an on-call capacity.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Prepare and bake dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
- Design and execute both traditional and innovative recipes to enhance our menu offerings
- Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods using creative techniques
- Ensure quality of all products meets established standards through consistent quality checks - Maintain the kitchen work area in a clean and orderly manner following all food safety protocols - Organize and keep stock of baked goods and baking ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Utilize any leftover products effectively to minimize waste
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of all baked goods to maintain freshness
- Decorate baked products using various icings, toppings, and garnishes to enhance presentation

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum 3 years of professional baking experience required
- Proven expertise in a variety of baking techniques including bread making, pastry creation, and cake decoration - Strong understanding of baking principles, ingredient functions, and recipe development
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards
- Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment - Creative mindset with attention to detail and consistency
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training or certification preferred
- Food Handler Certificate required

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- This is an ON-CALL position with a minimum 50 hrs/month guaranteed work hours
- May require early morning, Sunday, or holiday availability based on production needs
- Must be flexible and responsive to on-call scheduling requirements
- Will be notified of shifts with reasonable advance notice
- Compensation: $ 20 - 23 per hour (based on experience)
- Position may require standing for extended periods, working in warm environments, and light lifting - Benefits: WSIB

**HOW TO APPLY**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 24 per week
