2171449 Alberta Ltd is recruiting on behalf of our client, Holiday Inn Edmonton South - Evario Events - The First H4 property with Conferencing and Banqueting facilities in Canada with 126 state of the art rooms, Lobby restaurant & bar, a 20,000 sq ft banqueting and conferencing facilities. We are looking for YOU to join our team.
Working as a Chef de Partie, you are responsible for the day-to-day operation within our busy kitchen environment. Your duties will include collaborating with the Head Chef, preparing specials and menus, prepping ingredients, and ensuring each cooking station has adequate supplies
**Summary of Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
- Work alongside the head chef to prepare menus and specials
- Order, prep, and keep stock of the common ingredients for each cooking station
- Train and supervise junior chefs in best practices, cleanliness standards, and safety
- Check for plating accuracy to ensure the correct garnishes, portion size, and serving dish
- Follow the direction given by the head chef to prepare and present the meals
- Follow health codes and cleanliness standards in the food storage areas and kitchen
- Anticipate and communicate shortages to the chef
- Look after banquet set up ,preparing and cooking ,presenting high quality dishes with speciality section
- Preparing meat fish and all types of porting
- Prepare, cook and service all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Previous Kitchen Supervisory experience in the culinary field required
- Excellent communication writing &verbal
- Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent an asset
- Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
**Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to)**:
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
