EIPS is recruiting a permanent part-time Educational Assistant at James Mowat Elementary.
James Mowat Elementary serves approximately 365 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 19 teaching staff and nine support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB. James Mowat Elementary's mission as a learning community is to provide students with the tools to enable them to be successful. This happens by recognizing individual learning styles and equipping students with the best strategies to learn.
The EA provides routine and repetitive instructional support. Under the direction of the teacher, an EA assists the student in acquiring the education and skills necessary for advancement in the educational setting. To reach this objective, the EA follows an individually prescribed learning program, through team planning and working one-on-one with the student(s). This involves routine recording, basic charting, and logging of observations.
