Construction Site Superintendent

**What You'll Be Doing**
- Create, Monitor, and update project schedules and ensure the schedule and look ahead schedules are followed and provide updates to the Project Manager/Senior Management as required
- Organize and Supervise site staff, trades and contractors and ensure that they are performing as required and reporting progress; Tracking/logging daily manpower on site and maintaining a project diary
- Ensure that the health and safety project plans and MOL requirements are implemented and followed and liaise with government inspectors on the standard requirements of the site
- Ensure the quality of work and materials are upheld - Upholding Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards
- Order materials such as concrete and rebar as needed to maintain work schedule

**What You Bring**
- 7+ years progressive experience in construction as a Site Superintendent with a record of completing **full-cycle** residential construction projects with poured in place concrete structures
- Have a post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
- Have all necessary certifications like Working at Heights, WHIMIS, First Aid and Basics of Supervision
- Possess thorough knowledge building large scale residential construction projects
- Able to read construction working drawings including and not limited to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and landscape drawings

**Nice to Have Skills/Experience**
- Have taken courses or certifications in project management or have PMP designation
- Experience or knowledge of Lean methodology
- Goal Seal Certification
- General Carpenter (403A)

Summary: To provide on-site coordination for a poured in place residential condominium construction project. Including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Superintendent:

- Complete understanding of construction drawings, documents, schedules and specifications.
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
- Communicate with project team regarding shop schedules, shop drawings, site instructions, RFI’s, and material submittals.
- Ensure that subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work.
- Coordinate required inspections with third party inspectors and municipal authorities.
- Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
- Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite.
- Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
- Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
- Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work or scheduling.
- Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized, and safe manner.
- Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
- Complete As-Built Drawings for the project.

Secondary Functions:

- Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the job-site.
- Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.
- Opening the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day.

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
