Food Service Worker

At Donair Hub we greet and serve guests, prepare food, and maintain food safety and sanitation standards. Team members also provide a level of customer service that exceeds our customer's expectations. This includes making and serving great tasting products in a friendly and courteous environment every single day.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Greets each guest with a smile and a warm welcome
- Can multi-task and doesn’t wait to be told what to do

- Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately.
- Uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record the order and compute the amount of the bill.
- Collects payment from guests and returns change.
- Maintains freshness of food
- Prepares food neatly, according to training, and in a timely manner.
- Checks products in the salad bar and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
- Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up.
- Ensures meat is being cut on Donair machine in a timely manner and follows instructions of how to cut meat
- Ability to do food prep as well as take care of customers and store needs
- Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean image. Understands and adheres to the Wash, Rinse, and Sanitize method of cleaning.
- Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards
- Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
- Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
- Package take-out food
- Portion and wrap foods
- Prepare, heat and finish simple food items
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars
- Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
- Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
- Handle and store cleaning products
- Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash
- Sharpen kitchen knives
- Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
- Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Previous food/customer service experience an asset
- customer service skills
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Education: Some high school or equivalent as asset.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instruction.
- Ability to work alone in-store without supervision after sufficient training, and being a key holder.
- Location is not near any buses or Skytrain - will need a vehicle and Driver's License and vehicle to work

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.85 per hour
