Overnight Houseperson

The Metcalfe Hotel delivers in Ottawa an understated luxury to world travelers by showcasing our rich building history and connecting to the current culture, community, and people that make Ottawa a lively 21st century capital city. Newly fully renovated and now part of the Gray Collection, our hotel is now entering a new era.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Proper maintenance of public areas such as: washrooms, elevators, lobby, business center, guest corridors, stairwell, and exterior of the hotel;
- Cleaning of the staff lunchroom, locker rooms, offices and garbage areas;
- Receiving and restocking of linen/ supplies deliveries;
- Interact with guests to promote a positive image of the property;
- Assist with inventory control, such as linen, guest supplies and cleaning supplies;
- Complete daily assignment sheets and document any mechanical problems in the public spaces;
- Respond to guest calls promptly and effectively and in a friendly manner;
- Assist the Front desk team with requests and deliveries;
- Collect and deliver guests dry cleaning;
- Follow through with any other tasks and assignments given by the Executive Housekeeper.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience in Housekeeping or Housekeeping Certification is an asset;
- Electrical/ maintenance/ plumbing capabilities are an asset;
- Ability to move and lift furniture/fixtures and some equipment, up to 100lbs;
- Ability to push /pull less than 300 lbs. of soiled linen and supplies;
- Attention to detail;
- Guest service oriented;
- Team player and enthusiastic with a positive attitude;
- Ability to work under pressure with decision making capability;
- Available to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays included;
- Effective communications skills in English.

**Salary**: From $21.66 per hour
