**WHO WE ARE**

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 as an international independent agency to lead a collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport. As the global regulatory body, WADA’s primary role is to develop, harmonize and coordinate anti-doping rules and policies across all sports and countries. Our key activities include: scientific and social science research; education; intelligence & investigations; development of anti-doping capacity; and, monitoring of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Program.

**P**OSITION OVERVIEW**

Within The World Anti-Doping Agency (“WADA”) Digital Insights Impact Area (the “Impact Area”), the Lead of the Data Unit will oversee the organization’s data governance, analytics, and insights functions. This role is responsible for managing data quality, ensuring compliance with governance policies, and generating actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making. The Lead will collaborate closely with IT and the Product Management Unit to ensure data infrastructure is robust and supports both analytical and operational needs.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Data Governance and Compliance
- Lead data governance efforts, ensuring data privacy, security, and compliance with regulations;
- Establish and enforce data quality standards and collaborate with the legal team on data-related policies.

Data Analytics and Insights
- Manage the development of data analytics solutions, providing actionable insights to the business;
- Oversee the creation of dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track key business metrics.

Data Literacy and Culture
- Promote data literacy initiatives across the organization, ensuring all departments have access to and understand how to use data;
- Lead the creation and consolidation of a data-driven culture by offering training and development programs focused on data tools, insights, and governance, in collaboration with the Human resources department.

Team Leadership and Mentoring
- Mentor and develop the data team, creating a culture of continuous learning and innovation;
- Identify opportunities for team members to grow professionally through training, workshops, and mentorship programs;
- Foster collaboration within the team and between the data unit and other departments, ensuring a cohesive approach to data and analytics.

Collaboration with IT and Product Teams
- Work with IT to ensure the data infrastructure is aligned with the needs of the organization;
- Collaborate with the Product Management Unit to ensure data insights inform product development and optimization.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- Bachelor degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field;
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics or data governance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position;
- Expertise in data governance, data analytics platforms, and working with cross-functional teams;
- Strong understanding of data privacy laws and compliance requirements;
- Knowledge of anti-doping is definitely an asset;
- Highly developed investigative logic, ability to identify and follow up leads. Aptitude for analysis, consistent attention to detail, willingness to learn, naturally enquiring mind and excellent problem-solving skills;
- Impactful interpersonal and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with influence and to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and to gather information and provide advice on intelligence matters;
- Highly developed ability to work quickly and accurately and without supervision, or as part of a team, in a structured and organized manner;
- Excellent oral and written skills in one of the two WADA official languages (English/French) and very good command of the other official language; Additional languages would be an asset;
