- Accountable for all Medical Plans and deliverables for Viatris in Canada as medical lead and responsible for management of medical plan and related deliverables related to launch of innovative assets in cardiology field as individual contributor- Bring medical insights on new scientific and therapeutic developments from opinion leaders/societies/congresses forward within Viatris organization- Provides medical guidance and input working directly with commercial, legal, safety, medical information and regulatory colleagues in support of key product initiatives. Activities may include approval of promotional activities/materials, attending academic congresses, managing publications, field force training as well as partnering cross functionally on product maintenance and defense activities.- Partners with Viatris Commercial Organization and is the point of contact & accountability to ensure medical alignment on key strategies, deliverables, portfolio growth & communication.- Develops a strong reputation and image for Viatris and current and future Viatris’ portfolio

Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Overall responsibility for development of the Medical Plans/Strategies in Canada, and specifically for medical strategy for launch of innovative assets in cardiology field (individual contributor)- In alignment with the Head of Medical Affairs Europe, define Canada Medical Objectives, Strategies, Tactics, Metrics and Targets in alignment with overarching company objectives & strategy but independent from commercial influence- Leadership and coaching of medical team if any, including setting objectives, performance management and team development. Also responsible for recruitment, development and retention of talented colleagues- Collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of information on brand strategy, clinical plan, new clinical data, new regulatory and safety information and accurate, balanced and up to date materials to use in medical to medical communications- Overall responsibility for development of the Medical Plans/Strategies in Canada, and specifically for medical strategy for launch of innovative assets in cardiology field (individual contributor)- In alignment with the Head of Medical Affairs Europe, define Canada Medical Objectives, Strategies, Tactics, Metrics and Targets in alignment with overarching company objectives & strategy but independent from commercial influence- Leadership and coaching of medical team if any, including setting objectives, performance management and team development. The minimum qualifications for this role are:
- Minimum of 5 years (Director) / 8 years (Senior Director) of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or clinical (e.g. hospital setting/patient care) industry with focus on cardiology therapeutic area. Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) is required. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.- Must understand compliance within the SOP Standards for Interactions with Healthcare Professionals - Canada, IMC Code, PAAB code, ASC code, Health Canada Regulations, codes of ethical business conduct and Canadian laws and regulations about pharmaceutical promotional activities.- Proven ability to interact with KOLs and Government Officials. Must possess ability to effectively communicate, develop, and manage collaborative relationships with KOLs and other medical professionals, external academic institutions and PAGs.- Demonstrated ability to create and articulate medical affairs strategy plans and to set and accomplish compelling goals both individually and in a team setting.
