**Function Overview**:
The Field Development Representative is accountable for the development and implementation of research project protocols. Conducting internal field trials for pest efficacy and crop tolerance. Applicants will be expected to coordinate trials placed with external research partners in the Manitoba and Southern Alberta geography. The position requires technical competency as well as strong project management, negotiating and influencing skills.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage external contract research trials conducted by third party organizations in Manitoba and Southern Alberta
- Conduct personal field research trials
- Develop protocols for both in house and external research trials
- Travel to external sites for observations during the research season
- Collect, enter, and summarize data for research projects.
- Create data summaries to be used for PMRA registration submissions
- Participate on multi-functional project teams involving key technical areas affecting registrations to drive short
- and long-term projects forward
- Liaison with Provincial Minor Use Coordinators to support/facilitate PMRA registration of Minor Use Projects.
**Required Education:
- MSc or equivalent experience (min 5yrs) in technical fields preferably related to pesticides i.e. weed science, entomology, plant pathology, agronomy etc.
**Qualifications**:
- Conducting and Managing Agriculture Field Research
- Strong knowledge of the Pest Control Product Act and its ongoing implementation by PMRA
- Basic understanding of product development cycle for crop agricultural new product development
- Experience in the product development cycle for crop use patterns.
- Experience in the product development cycle for agricultural use patterns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and influence skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Analytically strong with great attention to details.
- Favorable driving record
- Ability to travel 20% of time.
