**We are seeking front line staff to join our team at our School House location and our Port Perry locations. The School House is a purpose-built program supporting individuals in a 9000 square foot environment with large individual and common spaces all situated on a 3-acre property a short drive north of South Durham in beautiful Scugog Township.**

**Job Location: The School House Program and Port Perry Programs
- Durham Region North**

**Hours of work: 8 or 12 hours shifts depending on schedule.**

**Rate of Pay: Part Time WEEKEND PERMANENT$25 ($3hr Wage Enhancement included) our Part Time elect to work $23 ($3 Wage Enhancement included)**

**Support and Training: Training and ongoing support provided in**:
**- Registered Behaviour Technician certification**

**- UMAB**

**- Quality Assurance Measures Training**

**- Medication Handling and Distribution**

**- Positive Behavioural Support Training**

**About the Role**:
**DSP’s take the lead in the direct care of individuals supported by MHH. Staff are provided the resources, support and guidance to ensure care is of the highest standard and creates meaningful interactions and experiences for staff and those we support. In this role DSP’s will**:
**- Provided care and supervision to individuals supported by MHH.**

**- Support individuals with activities of daily living as required or directed.**

**- Provide support and coaching to individuals in the areas of social skills, communication and preferred recreational activities.**

**- Contribute solutions to barriers that may impact the quality of life of individuals we support and ensure individuals goals are met.**

**- Follow Behavioral Support Plans, Crisis Support Protocols as documented and directed.**

**- Administer Medication as required and trained.**

**- Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals supported their family, and care team.**

**Qualifications**:
**- Completion of a Human Services Diploma from a Community College and 1 year of related experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.**

**- We will consider completion of OSS diploma and 2 years of related experience.**

**- Solid understanding of Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder and additional complex needs.**

**- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring approach to working with adults with a developmental disability.**

**- Strong verbal and written communication skills.**

**- Experience supporting individuals with daily care requirements, behaviour support plans and individual support plans.**

**- Ability and interest to be a positive member of a dynamic team.**

**- Must have the ability to physically support young adults and adults with complex needs.**

**- Ability to complete and perform Crisis Intervention training (UMAB) - training provided as part of employment.**

**- Understanding of Quality Assurance Measures an asset, training provided.**

**- Valid drivers License with a G.**

**- Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.**

**- Successful completion of a VSS police check.**

**- Medical clearance in accordance with MHHCL policy on pre-employment medicals.**
