**JOB SUMMARY**

Scw’exmx Child and Family Services Society (SCFSS) is looking for an IT Technician. The IT Technician is responsible for assembling and deploying workstations, laptops, printers and phones as well as creating and modifying user accounts. The Technician provides onsite and remote tech support, troubleshooting hardware, software and networking issues and executing Tier 1 tech solutions. Additional duties include monitoring the IT ticket system for timely issue resolution, training employees on IT best practices, maintaining a technology inventory and generating IT statistics and reports. This role also involves collaborating with the IT Team to safeguard SCFSS’s technological assets and enhance cybersecurity measures.

**OVERVIEW OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure the integrity and security of SCFSS's intellectual and technological assets.
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure systems and enhance cybersecurity measures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support and related inquiries.
- Assemble, configure, and deploy staff workstations, laptops, printers, and phones.
- Create and modify user accounts as needed.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support by troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Execute Tier 1 tech support solutions at the desktop level, including software installations and upgrades, hardware installations, file backups, and system configuration.
- Monitor the central ticketing system to ensure timely resolution of support requests.
- Document all changes made to user environments.
- Follow established checklists for routine tasks, including software patches, hardware monitoring, and backups, to ensure consistent outcomes.
- Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQ resources online and internally to facilitate problem resolution.
- Train employees on internal IT hardware, software, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Assist in maintaining a comprehensive directory of SCFSS technology inventory in alignment with audit compliance requirements.
- Support the generation and maintenance of monthly and quarterly IT statistics and reports.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Child and Family Development Prior Contact Check before commencement of employment.
- Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license without restrictions.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Proven ability to support Windows, Apple, and Android devices.
- Familiarity with software systems (such as MS Office, Xyntax, Citrix) and hardware deployment, along with effective technology troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Experience working with Indigenous children, youth, families, and communities.
- Strong understanding and practice of nłeʔkepmx and syilx traditional values, cultural practices, and protocols.
