**Required Qualifications**:
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or other health related science. Currently licensed with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA), or an applicable professional regulatory body. Completion of basic Infection Prevention and Control training course, or commitment to complete this in first year of practice. Three (3) years of related experience in health care either acute care and/or continuing care setting. Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS).
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Following two (2) years of practice, obtain and maintain requirements for Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control (CBIC). Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required; must be able to exercise appropriate judgement and diplomacy in all forms of communication. Must possess knowledge and skills for conflict resolution. The ability to adapt to and support change initiatives. Professional knowledge and skills combined with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to engage others and influence their practice and behavior. Knowledge and skills of patient care practices required.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
A combination of experience and proficiency in two of the following areas, will be considered: Patient Care Practice, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, or Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Demonstrated knowledge of microbiology, epidemiological principles, and statistical methods is an asset. Knowledge and skills in adult education an asset. Voluntary participation in position related professional member groups (e.g., IPAC Canada). Knowledge of the Acute Care sector an asset.
