PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Planning, the Manager, Demand Planning is responsible for updating the OTC (open to cut) on a bi-weekly basis and advise of any latest trends in seasonal product categories. In reviewing these updates, the Manager of Demand Planning will review the TPs (total projections) by style & collection and advise if additional production is warranted based on the latest sales trend. The demand planning team must work closely with the purchasing department to ensure that fabrics are available.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Analyse forecasts seasonal (TPs) at the style level and raise any planning/manufacturing concerns through S&OP process.
- Analyse sales order variations and adjust manufacturing schedule accordingly.
- Work in conjunction with the Master Scheduler for forecast of the OTC.
- Oversee planning activities for Canada and Bulgaria.
- Strong Interaction with the purchasing dept since fabric orders that are based on the TPs.
- Accountable to prepare the production schedules of both manufacturing hubs in order to ensure the timely deliveries of finish products to meet customer demand.
- Coordinate effective communication with customer service on any delays affecting on-time delivery.
- Identify problematic seasonal categories and work in conjunction with sales and marketing to increase regular sales through promotional activities before liquidations go into effect.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- BA in Business Administration/ or Equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in working in a Planning Department
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in fashion buying a definite asset
- Leadership skills
- Strong Communication
- Strong Analytical skills
- Experience in Fashion Industry (Wholesale & Retail)
