Oakville, Canada West Oakville Preschool Centre Full time

Summer students-ECA or ECE

Shifts for this position would be 35 hours/per week,providing program coverage when regular employees are taking time off or when extra support is needed in the centre.. Availability for full day shifts (7.00 hrs) between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm would be an asset as our centre does not have split shifts or part time positions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting in planning and implementation of play & inquiry based curriculum
- Maintaining a clean, well-organised, inviting, healthy, safe, sanitary, diverse & inclusive environment
- Ensuring individual needs of each child is met through positive interactions, nutrition, and wellness
- Guiding children’s behaviour to promote autonomy and positive self-concept
- Creating a sense of Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement and Expression within the program
- Observing and documenting children’s activity and development through various means
- Building relationships with families and supporting their individual needs
- Completing daily administrative tasks (attendance, portfolios, photo documentation, cleaning & disinfecting checklists, playground safety checklists, etc.)
- Acting accordingly in emergency situations, following applicable policy and procedures
- Supervising children at all times and maintaining ratios accordingly
- Conducting self as a positive role model for children and co-workers

Must have Police Vulnerable screening check dated within 6 months

Valid First Aid/CPR level C

all immunisations up to date, including TB test

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $15.50-$15.51 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Oakville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- DAYCARE: 1 year (preferred)
