Summerhill Market is looking for a **Meat Clerk/Packager** to join the Meat Production team at our **Commissary** location.

Evening shift 2pm to 11pm full-time available

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Cutting a variety of types/cuts of meat with accuracy, safety and precision to prepared to be sold at our retail store locations or to be used by our Culinary team
- Preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, packing and pricing meat products
- Performing quality checks/audits to ensure all meat is up to company standards
- Maintaining cleanliness in the production area and ensuring compliance with food safety standards
- Working closely with the Meat Production Manager and other Meat Cutters to accurately track inventory
- Being a team player and helping your team members across the store as needed
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures and practices including health and safety, pricing, and loss prevention

**Skillset Requirements**:

- Passion for food - you are a true foodie at heart
- Quality driven with strong attention to detail
- Able to meet production targets
- Being an effective and positive communicator - having great listening skills, patience and knowing how how to work in a collaborative team
- Previous grocery or food industry experience along with a Food Safety Handlers Certification is an asset
- Ability to use various equipment to cut, weigh and package meat
- Flexible availability to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required with the ability to accommodate various shift coverage on short notice (Please note that you will be assigned to work either the day or afternoon shift)
- Maintaining Health and Safety Standards as defined under the Health and Safety Act
- Comfortable working in a cooler environment in coolers/freezers
- Physically fit; comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50lbs
- Good manual dexterity; good knife handling and equipment operating skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
