**Housekeeper**

Reporting to the Patient Flow Supervisor, the Housekeeper will maintain the cleanliness of site. This position operates out of the Alternative Level of Care Facility at Amberwood Suites, in partnership with Health Sciences North.

**Position Overview**
- Follow site and Health Sciences North policies, processes, and procedures;
- Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the facility;
- Complete on-site laundry requirements;
- Follow site cleaning checklists;
- Inspect, clean, and store department equipment and supplies;
- Handle hazardous waste in accordance with established procedures as well as the relevant federal and provincial legislation, standards and guidelines;
- Maintain inventory of items and stock supplies in accordance with established procedures;
- Receive, distribute and collect reprocessing instruments, linen, consumables and other equipment in accordance with established procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills**:

- Must have an understanding of Infection Prevention and Control practices;
- Ability to work well independently and within a team;
- Ability to do extensive standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and lifting of objects up to 50lbs is required;
- Ability to work in a safe manner;
- Strong customer service skills.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a medical or care facility;
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required (dated within 6 months of employment start date);
- Updated vaccinations as per company policy and TB testing are required;
- Ability to wok days and some weekends;
- Bilingualism (French) would be considered an asset.

Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
