The primary work hours for this position are DAY shift:
7am - 3:30pm

Tuesday - Saturday.

$80K per annum.

**JOB SUMMARY**

Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in (un)loading freight while following the organizations policies and procedures, and any applicable laws.

Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work.

**JOB SCOPE**
- Assign job duties to dock workers according to (un)loading schedules
- Observes loading to determine conformance to loading patterns in order to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of jobs
- Enforce health & safety regulations
- Understand the needs of the business and varying workload levels
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems
- Perform activities of those being supervised as required to meet daily targets and deadlines
- Conducting performance appraisals; rewarding and disciplining employees.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 3-5 years related industry experience essential - within transportation and cross-docking
- Knowledge of equipment and handling procedures with regards to the trucking industry
- Dangerous Goods Certificate, Forklift Certificate, WHIMS training
- Strong leadership, while operating as a team player, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with solid organizational skills
- Willingness to undertake new challenges, think creatively, problem-solve and recommend improvements in a dynamic environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic math skills required for cubing, adding, dividing, figuring percentages etc.
- Minimum Grade 12 completion or equivalency preferred
