- Certified as a Journeyperson Powerline Technician through the industry recognized training program or equivalent.
- Must possess a minimum valid DZ (or equivalent) driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one within six (6) months to operate the vehicles handled in this position.
- Must be complete a pre-employment drug test and participate in a random drug & alcohol testing pool either with HPS Inc. or with another employer.
- Must have a valid passport and a clear criminal record to allow frequent crossing into the US for storm restoration work.
- Must be vaccinated for Covid-19.
- Must be physically able to perform the essential duties in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills as well as the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, customers, and industry partners.
- Must have an excellent safety record, and commitment to ongoing high standards of safety.
- Be able and willing to respond to work for unplanned weather events at a moments notice.
- Must work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisor and peers.
- Thorough understanding of equipment, standards, and practices applicable.
- Unrelenting commitment and passion to safety, ethics, and continuous improvement.
HPS offers top compensation, benefits, and incentives. The hourly wage for Powerline Technicians on storm is $55, with most hours paid at double time, or $110/hr. All accommodations, meals & expenses are covered during callouts.
